An American Store in Amsterdam
Missing the trivial and nostalgic taste of home.
There’s a store in #Amsterdam that is dedicated to #AmericanBrand foods and snacks. There you can find anything from #AuntJemima to #KraftMacnCheese to #CornPops. Whenever I go there I feel like a little kid in a nostalgic candy shop. Living abroad forces you to make things from scratch in order to get a taste of home. I‘ve been on a hunt (going on for years now) to find the Dutch equivalent of a graham cracker. I’ve tried dozens of crackers and cookies and am this close to throwing in the towel and trying to make them from scratch. Anyone got a recipe??? 🥸 🧐 👩🍳
