Sal Island | Cabo Verde
An all-inclusive resort on a small island in Cape Verde kept me drunk at least.
TL;DR... Is the Sal Island Cabo Verde All-Inclusive Resort worth it? Yes and no.
Let’s #MindTravel somewhere warm today; it’s cold and grey here in Holland. What about an impression of an all-inclusive resort on Sal Island Cabo Verde.
#CaboVerde was my first trip to #Africa and my first all-inclusive resort. I traded in my backpack to participate in this super #Dutchie custom (almost as Dutch as going “camping,” but that’s another story) of going to all-inclusive resorts.
My thoughts... it’s like you’re on a cruise ship; kinda stuck on the hotel property. And this part of #SalIsland didn’t have anything within reach to really explore. After the second or third day I was like okay, I’m tanned, fed and all boozed up... where is the adventure?! We made a friend in one of the shop owners and at least had someone real to talk to. I also picked up the trick of buying souvenirs on the first day, that way you can sport your new necklace or anklet, and the salesmen along the pier and walkways will leave you be. A great trick that has come in handy on plenty of trips since. I read a lot and snooped on the other tourists because like a cruise ship, you see the same people over and over again.
Hot gossip? I saw a number of single women doing a walk of shame early in the mornings over my sunrise coffees. 🤣🤣🤣 One of the guys that worked at the resort seemed to reel in a different woman every night. Reminded me of a scene that could have been pulled from #DirtyDancing or #Cocktail.
All and all, it was a relaxing week but I also felt extremely restless. I posted a #TravelMusicVideo below if you’re interested. #PreCoronaTravel#CapeVerde#YourTravelBlogger

P.S. I'm in the process of updating my travel blog and am including past postcards. If I see a lot of interest in a certain topic or destination, I will beef up the postcard and turn it into a full travel article.
