Time Traveling Suits Me
I brought Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Afrojack and Miley Cyrus together with a wrecking ball.
For the Love of Musicals
Despite being an 80's baby, I was raised on "Golden Age" musical classics. These Hollywood movies helped morph me into the sentimental fool I've become and I still expect to see the world break into song and dance at some point in my life.
I think maybe the flash mob that I was involved in is as close as I'm going to get. Pity.
Anyhow, one day I was watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers do their thing and I was about to go on a run. I wanted to add Afrojack's remix of "Wrecking Ball," to my iPod and decided to multitask.
There was a beautiful moment that happened when I saw how the dynamic duo --that is, Fred and Ginger-- danced their glorious steps to such a modern sound. The lightbulb went off and before I knew it, I was pulling clips and making unique choreography that made my belly tickle.
A little time travel, a little video editing, a little sentimentality... and many, many hours later, you have this tribute. I hope you enjoy it. And I hope it lets you see how you can recreate, remix, reinterpret, re-examine the world around you.
There are endless possibilities, my friends, to how you can choose to view your world.
